After NBC cancelled the Constantine series starring Matt Ryan, The CW brought the character over into the Arrowverse for an episode in the fourth season of Arrow. However the character hasn’t been seen since then and fans have been wanting to see more of Constantine in one way or another. The CW announced today during the CW executive session at the ongoing Television Critics Association Press Tour that a Constantine animated series will be coming to the digital platform CW Seed with Ryan set to return.
Season 1 will consist of five-six episodes that will be about 10 minutes long each. David S. Goyer, who worked as an executive producer on the NBC Series, will be joining Greg Berlanti for the animated show.
CW Seed is currently the home of two other DC animated shows, one being Vixen that recently concluded its second season. The other is the upcoming show that was announced last year, Freedom Fighter: Ray. Ryan is already set to voice John Constantine in another animated property this year with the upcoming Justice League Dark film that will be out on Blu-Ray and DVD on February 7. The network also released the first piece of artwork for the series which you can check out below.
