Stranger Things breakout Dacre Montgomery replaces Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in a stunning piece of fan art.
A new actor is expected to portray Wolverine when he returns to the silver screen, as the iconic X-Men hero is now under the creative control of Marvel Studios after Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox. Kevin Feige and company are currently figuring out how to work the X-Men and Fantastic Four properties into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No announcements on the newly-acquired Marvel properties are expected at the studio’s highly-anticipated San Diego Comic-Con panel, but fans are still wondering who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Many names have been thrown around on who should pick up the Wolverine mantle from Hugh Jackman, including Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington and Venom star Tom Hardy. An interesting name that has also emerged on the internet is Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery. The 24-year-old Australian actor has become a fan-favorite after his his performance as Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things, with many wanting him to join a comic book franchise soon.
