Danai Gurira Has Wrapped Filming On Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Black Panther Danai Gurira

There hasn’t been too much information regarding the Black Panther movie and the plot details are being heavily guarded besides what’s already been given in the synopsis (and it doesn’t offer much). But Danai Gurira, most well-known for her role as Michonne on AMC’s The Walking Dead posted a picture to her Twitter account confirming that she’s wrapped filming on Black Panther.

You can check out the tweet and picture below!

“Just wrapped yesterday. Love these wonderful people I got to share this journey with. !”

Now that Danai Gurira has wrapped filming, it’s safe to say that production on Marvel’s next film is almost complete. So far, we’ve only gotten some behind-the-scenes videos of stunts. Gurira will be playing Okoye, the leader of T’Challa’s Dora Milaje.

“Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke,  Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan.

Black Panther is in theaters February 16, 2018.

7 Reasons To Be Excited For ‘Black Panther’

Previous1 of 8

Black PantherBlack Panther is coming back, and trust me when I say his movie will be worth seeing.

I know it’s hard to get excited when there are so many superhero movies coming out every year, but Black Panther is a character that deserves a shot on the big screen. Not only was he the first black superhero, he naturally serves as an extension to the rest of the MCU. Finally we’re not focusing on someone from New York City, T’Challa was born and raised in Wakanda, a whole different jungle compared to NYC.

Black Panther is as smart as Mr. Fantastic and as fierce a fighter as Batman. Unlike most of the marvel characters who are defined by one trait, Iron Man as dependent on tech or Cap as overly patriotic, Black Panther is a multi-faceted character.

I almost gave this list 8 reasons just because I’m excited to see what Stan Lee’s cameo is gonna be. Fingers crossed for a stereotypical tourist on safari.
