‘The Dark Tower’ Trailer Coming Soon; Idris Elba Featured In New Image

Dark TowerAfter what feels like forever and a day, The Dark Tower trailer has finally been rated and will be hitting the internet soon. The film’s release has already been delayed by a week. The initial release date was scheduled for February of this year, before getting moved to July and then August. The delays have probably been due to post-production not being completed.

The Dark Tower, which is being directed by Nikolaj Arcel and adapted from Stephen King’s novel, will most likely be coming within the next week or so, according to Trailer-Track.

Until then, a new image from the movie has been released and it features Idris Elba standing in an alleyway. You can check out the image below.

Now that the trailer has been confirmed to be on its way, it probably means the August release date will be the final one and that no more delays will be happening. Here’s hoping.

Jake, who is still reeling over the death of his hero dad, a first responder on 9/11 who succumbed to toxic exposure, has a series of terrifying and apocalyptic visions that have made him doubt his own sanity. But when Jake narrowly avoids being abducted by terrifying creatures in human form, he escapes into another world. In this strange new reality, Jake teams with weary and disillusioned hero, Roland Deschain, a knight-like warrior bent solely on avenging himself against his age-old nemesis.

The film stars Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Jackie Earle Haley and Katheryn Winnick.

The Dark Tower will be in theaters August 4, 2017.

TrailersEvery year, an avalanche of trailers, teasers, TV spots flood the Internet, trying to grab the attention of busy and overstimulated audiences. It’s gotten to the point where now, trailers are such a commodity, that the trailers themselves have teasers. There’s a reason: trailers, when they’re good, can be an artform all their own.

I love trailers, being the guy who is always rushing his friends and family to the theater early “so we don’t miss the previews.” Every summer, I make a YouTube playlist of my favorites that acts as my own personal radio station because frankly, sometimes, I vibe more to how the trailer is cut than the music in it or, in bad cases, the movies themselves when I finally catch them on-screen. It’s gotten to the point that I imagine and dream in a trailer format, with music setting the pace for a smash-cut of scenes that I want to write or just enjoy the fantasy of.

If you love a good trailer like I love a good trailer, this list is for you. Here’s what I consider the top 10 trailers for the summer 2017. Click Next to start!
