Avengers star Dave Bautista steps into a Bane outfit for in a new piece of fan art for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

Although fans last saw Dave Bautista in Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel star has previously mentioned that he’d love to jump over to the world of DC and help bring Bane to life for The Suicide Squad. Bautista’s bulky muscular size would definitely fit the role, and it would be interesting to see him take on the action and stunts that naturally go hand-in-hand with the iconic Batman villain. James Gunn recently provided fans with an update on the upcoming Suicide Squad film, explaining that it’s fully finished.

The fan art from Instagram user ‘barrett.digital’ shows the Avengers star Dave Bautista with a bulky Bane outfit which combines a similar style to Tom Hardy’s tactical suit with a comic book-accurate design. Since The Suicide Squad will be a more violent affair than other superhero properties, Dave Bautista’s Bane could really be let off the chain if he was to appear alongside other villains like Harley Quinn and Bloodsport. You can check out the artwork below.

What do you think of the artwork? Would you like to see Dave Bautista join The Suicide Squad as Bane? Or would you rather see Bautista in another Avengers movie? Let us know in the comments!

Here’s the synopsis for The Suicide Squad:

“Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone’s favorite pyscho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese.”

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.

The Suicide Squad is currently scheduled to hit theaters and HBO Max on August 6, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Avengers, Dave Bautista and Bane, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
