Avengers Star Dave Bautista Becomes Bane For James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ In New Image

A new concept design pictures Avengers: Endgame star Dave Bautista as infamous Batman foe Bane for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

Avengers star Dave Bautista is a former wrestler-turned-actor who’s best known for his work as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he recently revealed that he would be willing to switch teams and cross over to the DC Extended Universe. The Avengers star confessed that he would be interested in playing Clayface in an upcoming Batman-related film. But, DC fans have something different in mind as they have been fan-casting Dave Bautista as Bane for quite some time. So much so, that it’s hard to see the actor as any other comic book character. Bane has been done in live-action a couple times before with Tom Hardy being the last actor to portray him in Christopher Nolan’s realistic Batman universe. In the DC Extended Universe, Dave Bautista could be the right fit to portray a more comic-book accurate version of Bane on the big screen.

Many fans were hoping that Bane would have a role in James Gunn’s upcoming sequel, The Suicide Squad. With Dave Bautista defending James Gunn after the filmmaker was fired from the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie fans expected the actor to switch sides to DC Films. Instead, Dave Bautista will be starring in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix movie Army of the Dead and that kept him from being able to do James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Despite Dave Bautista not actually being involved in the movie, Instagram artist Jaxson Derr has shared a concept design that pictures the Avengers actor as Bane in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
