David Ayer And Will Smith To Return For Suicide Squad Sequel

Suicide Squad Sequel Will Smith

In the midst of a report on a Max Landis script for a “cop thriller with fantasy elements”, The Wrap has confirmed that both David Ayer and Will Smith are set to return for a sequel to the upcoming Suicide Squad, currently slated to start production in 2017.

It’s a move that mirrors Marvel’s decision to announce a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel weeks before that film opened back in 2014, though this is potentially even more bullish as DC is still weeks away from unveiling the second film in their shared cinematic universe. Either way, it shows that both Warner Bros. and DC are all-in on their own comic book movie universe.

That’s not what the article says at all. The FILMING is speculated for 2017. Not release. They aren’t going to start filming the second movie before the first comes out. That’s just common sense.
