David Mazouz On Possible Harley Quinn Appearance In ‘Gotham’ Season 4

Gotham Harley QuinnEarlier this year, one of the Gotham executive producers teased that we would possibly see the character of Harley Quinn in the Season 3 finale which aired in May. For those who have seen it by now are aware that we never saw Harley appear in the two-hour finale at all.

David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne on the Batman prequel drama, was recently asked in an interview about the whole Harley situation. While Mazouz wasn’t sure what exactly went down with those plans, he admitted that he had heard rumblings about it. Just like many viewers, Mazouz saw the finale and didn’t see any hints to Harley, but stated that maybe the writers are saving her for Season 4.

“I’m not exactly sure what they were going to do with Harley Quinn. I know there was talks about it. I’m not in the writers room, so I don’t know exactly what they were doing. I think there might have been a plan to do something in the finale. But like you said, I watched the finale also, I didn’t see any direct hints to it. So maybe in season 4.”

There was speculation that Erin Richards, who plays Barbara Kean on Gotham, would somehow transform into Harley Quinn in the finale. The actress even dropped a big hint at this year’s WonderCon where Richards said that she would have to do more comic book research after this recent season. It remains to be seen if Barbara is back for Season 4, given what happened to her in the finale.

The cast and creative team are heading to this year’s San Diego Comic-Con where we’ll learn more about Season 4. All that we know about the upcoming season so far is that Alexander Siddig’s Ra’s Al Ghul, who made his debut in the finale, will play a big role in Season 4.

“Gotham’s origin story continues to unfold, and as the show enters its fourth season, the stakes will be higher than ever! With the Court of Owls decimated, the aftermath of the Tetch virus crippling the city, and every (surviving) villain in Gotham’s underworld jockeying for power, Jim Gordon and the GCPD will have their hands full. And that’s just the beginning! What threat does Ra’s al Ghul pose, and will Penguin regain his title as the King of Gotham? What new villains are in store for season four, and what does Bruce Wayne’s season finale reveal mean for Gotham City — and his ultimate destiny?”

Gotham Season 4 is set to premiere on Thursday, September 28 at 8/7c on FOX.
