DC Entertainment Chief Reveals There’s No Plan To Crossover Their Television & Films

Were you hoping that perhaps DC was setting up some kind of a multiverse when it came to their TV and film properties? Perhaps to see their film properties eventually interact with their television ones? Well, I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one if I were you. While speaking with Variety, DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson confirmed that they have no intention of doing so and that the two will remain seperate entities.  Nelson stated:

We’re so talent driven. [The focus on a single universe] could end up handcuffing our creators into trying to work with the same storyline or force them to hold back characters or introduce certain characters. Ultimately it hinders the ability for someone like (showrunner) Bruno Heller to come in and create Gotham.

Nelson went on to say that the shared universe strategy “has worked beautifully” for Marvel Studios but it doesn’t make sense for Warner Bros. to follow the same plan when it comes to their properties.

Do have any interest in seeing the film universe cross over with the TV one or do you agree with Nelson’s comments about “handcuffing” the creators? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
