DC Films Producers Debunk Rumor About 4 ‘Batman’ Films In 2019

Batman Films Rumor DebunkLast weekend, a rumor was floating around that Warner Bros. Pictures was planning to release a total of four Batman related films in 2019, with Nightwing, Batgirl, Gotham City Sirens as well as the solo Batman film with Ben Affleck. While the four films are definitely being worked at, the part about them all coming out in 2019 is definitely just a rumor.

This morning Jon Berg, one of the co-heads of the DC Films division, took to Twitter to hilariously debunk the rumor about supposed release year for all four respective films.

“Hey @geoffjohns why didn’t you tell me we were releasing 4 Batman movies in 2019? Can we increase that to 10?”

Geoff Johns, who is the other co-head of the division, followed up with a hilarious response to Berg’s tweet.

“27. Including Batmite: The Movie.”

Hopefully in the near future, we will get some official updates on when these films are all coming out and more. At least you will see Batman on the big screen later this year in Zack Snyder’s Justice League which opens in theaters on Friday, November 17.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens, starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Chris McKay’s Nightwing and Joss Whedon’s potential Batgirl film, are currently in development stages and have no set release dates as of now.

Bat Family Deserve Solo Film
The DC Extended Universe continues to grow, with one of the most recent surprises being that of the announcement of Joss Whedon taking the reigns on a Batgirl solo movie. In addition to this, there’s been talks of a Nightwing project from The Lego Batman Movie helmer Chris McKay. These two characters are crucial elements to the Batman mythos as well as members of the Bat Family. There have been several characters that have been a part of the Bat Family in different ways and many of them have the potential to have films of their own. If the DCEU decided to give them their own solo projects it is best to look at the few that a solo film could really work in their favor. Not all characters deserve solo films, but these following ones certainly do. Here are 6 Bat Family members who deserve their own solo films

Me too. Berg seems like a fun guy and I like that he’s lurking on fansites checking out the ridiculous rumors.

WB should just be the spokesman for DC, he’s got personality; exactly what the DCEU needs

There is probably going to be at most two Batmovies in 2019, GCS/Batman, Batman/Nightwing or only Batman.

The age of The internet sucks in this department, when people will just make stuff up and run it as news. There is a comic book movie website where some guy name Josh Wildthing or something, makes up stuff and calls it news and puts it up there all the time, just as click bait. you can’t trust anything you read online.
