Variety reports The CW is adding yet another comic book adaptation to its rosters as the network is developing Project 13, an adaptation of the DC Comics character Traci Thirteen with Elizabeth Banks serving as executive producer.
The one hour drama will focus on Traci, a young forensic scientist in her twenties who discovers hidden extra-sensory abilities when she joins her estranged, skeptic father to investigate mysterious cases of the paranormal.
The series will be written by Daegan Fryklind. She will also serve as executive producer alongside Banks. Fryklind has exec produced series such as Bitten, The Dark Corner, and Being Erica. Banks will also produce with Max Handelman under Brownstone Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Project 13 could be the seventh series based on a DC property to come to fruition on the network home to Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, iZombie, and the upcoming Black Lightning series. In addition, The CW has also found success in the Archie Comics adaptation, Riverdale, which is currently in its sophomore season and will be expanding on that universe with The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a reimagining of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a supernatural horror tale, taking influence from the acclaimed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series.
Stay tuned for the latest news on the development of Project 13 as we learn it.
