Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Deadpool 2!
Deadpool 2 featured a number of surprise cameo appearances and one of the most memorable moments featured the cast of X-Men, who were seen hiding from the Merc with a Mouth after Colossus brought him to Charles Xavier’s mansion. In an interview with CinemaBlend, actor Evan Peters revealed that there are alternate takes of that brief appearance by Professor X, Quicksilver, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Beast.
Peters commented on how the cameo came about and shared minor details on one alternate take that wasn’t included in the theatrical cut of Deadpool 2:
“We were shooting [X-Men: Dark Phoenix], and were like, ‘Okay, we’re going to do a quick thing for Deadpool 2.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s awesome!’ I thought it was going to be at the end of the film, in the credits, like some sort of funny Easter egg thing. And we had a lot of different versions for when they open that door and turn to us. But the one they used was pretty chill, and was in the first half of the film, which I was like, ‘Oh, Jesus, that’s kind of weird.'”
When asked for further details on the alternate takes, Peters was unsure if he could divulge such information and simply added, “there was some fun, dirty stuff.”
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Directed by David Leitch, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapcic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Julian Dennison, Jack Kesy and Shioli Kutsuna join the cast in undisclosed roles.

5 Essential Cable Stories To Read Before His Debut In ‘Deadpool 2’
Now that it’s official Josh Brolin will be suiting up as Cable in Deadpool 2, it’s time for everyone to get a crash course on the character so they can say “that’s not how it happened in the comic” when they see the movie with their friends.
Nathan Summers, the future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, first debuted in 1986, but he didn’t make his full debut as Cable until 1990. Rob Liefeld designed him to be a leader more prone to take action than Xavier and that character trait has persisted throughout his long history. Cable has fought alongside the X-Men in the past as well as fought for mutants survival against the government in a dark future.
Cable is the straight-man to Deadpool’s goofball and I can’t wait to see the two of them come together next year in Deadpool 2. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin have the chemistry to bring this legendary bro-mance to the bigscreen, otherwise Fox will be hearing from a lot of angry fans.
