‘Deadpool 2’ Ending Featured This Easter Egg From ‘Logan’

Deadpool 2 Fandango
Warning: The following post contains spoilers for Deadpool 2!

Deadpool 2 featured a number of nods and references to the Merc with a Mouth’s superhero contemporaries, but Ryan Reynolds revealed to The Empire Film Podcast that the conclusion of the film also borrowed a key component director James Mangold’s critically acclaimed Logan.

During the final act of Deadpool 2, the Merc with a Mouth sacrificed himself to save the troubled mutant named Russell by taking a bullet intended to kill the young child. Though the Merc with a Mouth’s delivered some laughs during his death scene, Reynolds revealed that the score for the scene was the same music used during Wolverine’s final moments in Logan:

“When Deadpool dies in the third act of Deadpool 2, the music that’s playing is actually the Logan death music.”

Did you catch the Logan score being used? Sound off below!

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Directed by David Leitch, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapcic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al,  and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Julian Dennison, Jack Kesy and Shioli Kutsuna join the cast in undisclosed roles.

Deadpool 2 is now playing in theaters!

5 Essential Cable Stories To Read Before His Debut In ‘Deadpool 2’

Josh Brolin Cable Deadpool 2Now that it’s official Josh Brolin will be suiting up as Cable in Deadpool 2, it’s time for everyone to get a crash course on the character so they can say “that’s not how it happened in the comic” when they see the movie with their friends.

Nathan Summers, the future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, first debuted in 1986, but he didn’t make his full debut as Cable until 1990. Rob Liefeld designed him to be a leader more prone to take action than Xavier and that character trait has persisted throughout his long history. Cable has fought alongside the X-Men in the past as well as fought for mutants survival against the government in a dark future.

Cable is the straight-man to Deadpool’s goofball and I can’t wait to see the two of them come together next year in Deadpool 2. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin have the chemistry to bring this legendary bro-mance to the bigscreen, otherwise Fox will be hearing from a lot of angry fans.
