‘Deadpool 2’ Will Make Fun Of Superhero Sequels

Deadpool

The movie industry is currently being overtaken by sequels, reboots and comic book films. As a result of the changing industry, it should come as no surprise that the sequel to the extremely successful Deadpool is going to embrace that it’s a sequel and make fun of it.

Producer Simon Kinberg commented on the tone of Deadpool 2 and that it won’t be afraid to make fun of itself (much like the first movie).

“I think Deadpool 2 will comment on anything that’s happening in movies today, especially in superhero movies, the sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels.”

Kinberg also indicated that the character of Cable has yet to be cast. Cable was teased as joining the cast during the Deadpool post credit scene. As initially reported, Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick are hard at work on the film’s script with star Ryan Reynold & director Tim Miller returning as well.
As previously reported, Deadpool 2 doesn’t have a release date yet but it sounds like 20th Century Fox hopes to get the cameras rolling as soon as possible.
Are you looking forward to the Deadpool sequel?

Eric Dane from “THE LAST SHIP” gets my vote as Cable.

HOT TAKE ALERT: deadpool 1 was overrated.

Maybe some references to rushing a half-baked film out to meet a release date…

Well with all the canon fodder dceu is providing this year alone, DP2 should be a side-splitting riot.

The funniest parts of Deadpool were the inventive ones like the “courtship” scene and “new hand”. The lamest were the low hanging fruit shots at self deprication like the X-films and GL’s suit. This skews to the latter IMHO.

I’d love to see it, with Reynold’s helping write the scrip and hopefully a bigger budget (not that they needed one.) It will be interesting to see what they pull out for Cable and dead-pool and hopefully the studio gives them more characters then just 2 living in the huge mention (I mean come on extra’s I don’t even care if they have speaking roles or any part in the actual X-men team just toss some people in, and make sure to bring back colossus he was great and mega-sonic. Please bring Domino in this time.
