‘Deadpool 2’ Will Make Fun Of Superhero Sequels

The movie industry is currently being overtaken by sequels, reboots and comic book films. As a result of the changing industry, it should come as no surprise that the sequel to the extremely successful Deadpool is going to embrace that it’s a sequel and make fun of it.

Producer Simon Kinberg commented on the tone of Deadpool 2 and that it won’t be afraid to make fun of itself (much like the first movie).

“I think Deadpool 2 will comment on anything that’s happening in movies today, especially in superhero movies, the sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels.”

Kinberg also indicated that the character of Cable has yet to be cast. Cable was teased as joining the cast during the Deadpool post credit scene. As initially reported, Rhett Rheese and Paul Wernick are hard at work on the film’s script with star Ryan Reynold & director Tim Miller returning as well.
As previously reported, Deadpool 2 doesn’t have a release date yet but it sounds like 20th Century Fox hopes to get the cameras rolling as soon as possible.
Are you looking forward to the Deadpool sequel?
