Before she joins the Merc with the Mouth in next year’s sequel Deadpool 2, actress Zazie Beetz recently revealed some of the challenges that came along with her role as the fan-favorite mutant Domino. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Beetz discussed how the cast and crew of the upcoming film are still grieving over the loss of stuntwoman Joi Harris who passed away last month during a tragic motorcycle stunt:
“It changed a lot in our production, changed a lot in the film. That week, we shut down production for a few days and then we came together and it actually really did bring the cast to sort of to this same place… the crew as well.”
The actress revealed that the production team held a memorial for Harris and how she feels a kindred connection with the stuntwoman whom she also shared the role with:
“She was a Domino, and so I feel kind of connected to her in that way. She lives with us and I think she will in the film.”
Although tragedy as struck the production of Deadpool 2, Beetz is still enthusiastic for what the film has in store for fans of the original film and revealed how working with the Merc with the Mouth himself Ryan Reynolds has been a learning experience for her:
“[Filming this is] hard. I’m training a lot and I am naturally not one to gym, so it’s been– that’s been a learning experience. But also, honestly, it’s amazing kind of watching Ryan [Reynolds] do his thing because you think like, ‘Oh, he has the mask on and you can ADR all of it’ or whatever, but he’s genuinely, incredibly talented and really just can do it. It’s pretty impressive to watch.”
Deadpool 2 is gunning for a June 1, 2018 release date. Its cast includes Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (Deadpool), Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, T. J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin (Colossus), Zazie Beetz as Neena Thurman (Domino), Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers (Cable), and Jack Kesy as Black Tom Cassidy.

5 Essential Cable Stories To Read Before His Debut In ‘Deadpool 2’
Now that it’s official Josh Brolin will be suiting up as Cable in Deadpool 2, it’s time for everyone to get a crash course on the character so they can say “that’s not how it happened in the comic” when they see the movie with their friends.
Nathan Summers, the future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, first debuted in 1986, but he didn’t make his full debut as Cable until 1990. Rob Liefeld designed him to be a leader more prone to take action than Xavier and that character trait has persisted throughout his long history. Cable has fought alongside the X-Men in the past as well as fought for mutants survival against the government in a dark future.
Cable is the straight-man to Deadpool’s goofball and I can’t wait to see the two of them come together next year in Deadpool 2. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin have the chemistry to bring this legendary bro-mance to the bigscreen, otherwise Fox will be hearing from a lot of angry fans.
