In the months and weeks leading up to the theatrical release of Deadpool, eager fans took notice of 20th Century Fox’s creative marketing strategy to promote the superhero flick. Taking advantage of the titular characters crude and self-referential humor, advertisements for the film included clever billboards using emoji’s in lieu of text and several NSFW trailers that had fans talking non-stop.

The video features Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool to provide witty commentary of the films advertisements and how the marketing team came up with their strategy to promote the film.
