‘Deadpool’ Gets Banned In China

Earlier this week, we found out that Tim Miller’s Deadpool has been officially Rated R by the MPAA for a lot of things, including strong violence and graphic nudity. While we already knew that this would eventually happen, even before seeing the previously-released trailers, we don’t really know how far the director went with some of the adult content in the film. However, we’ve now got a big hint, and it sounds like this movie is a whole lot crazier than expected.

If you’re a fan of the character and you happen to live in China, you might want to sit down for this. THR is reporting that Deadpool has been officially banned in China. That means that the movie won’t be screened in any theaters there next month, because it wasn’t approved by the SAPPRFT (State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television), due to some of the graphic content that’s in the movie.

Apparently, cutting down the movie wouldn’t work without leaving a lot of plot holes, so it sounds like fans of the character won’t be disappointed. While I can’t help but feel sorry for the Chinese audience, this news makes me so much more excited for this movie. What about you guys? Sound-off your thoughts in the comment section below.
