There’s been a lot of talk in past few week’s about the future for Deadpool over at 20th Century Fox. Just yesterday we learned that a sequel had been green lit by the studio and recently star Ryan Reynolds revealed that he has also made X-Force a “priority”. Well, it also seems that Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick also have some interest in X-Force as well.  While speaking with HeyUGuys, while the interview took place prior to the sequel being announced, the pair were asked if we could potentially see some of these characters making an appearance in the film.

“Yes, absolutely. I think those are characters who are near and dear to Deadpool fan’s hearts and characters we would like to explore down the line if we’re so fortunate to have sequels. Cable is one that we will absolutely visit if we’re allowed to keep moving forward with multiple movies. We’ve always wanted to honour the fans first, so the fan’s favourite characters, that mean a lot to them, we will take a long, hard look at moving forward.”

The discussion then shifted to a possible X-Force film and it looks like that one is something that screenwriting duo want just as much as Reynolds. Wernick told the outlet that getting “in to more of an ensemble piece is something we would cherish. X-Force is beloved and we love it, and Deadpool is centric to that world, and we’d love to bring an X-Force movie into the X Universe.”  Here’s hoping an X-Force film is something that is going to become a reality very soon. Let us know what you think of the screenwriting duo’s comments in the section below.
