Despite existing in the same cinematic universe, we have yet to see a full-on crossover between Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and any of The Defenders shows. While it will most likely happen at some point down the line, actors from both shows did recently get together for a crossover-ish.
The Defenders’ Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) joined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson) and Chloe Bennet (Daisy Johnson/Quake) for a special photoshoot for Emmy Magazine. Jeph Loeb, Marvel TV President and executive producer of both series joined the actors for the photoshoot which you can see below.
Even though we haven’t had any onscreen crossovers between the long-running ABC series and the Netflix shows, there have been subtle hints nods and hints over the past few years. We know that Daisy grew up in the same orphanage as Matt at the Saint Agnes Orphanage. In Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Judas bullet, developed by Hammer Industries, was used after having been introduced in Luke Cage Season 1.
Marvel’s The Defenders Season 1, starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Finn Jones as Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist and Mike Colter as Luke Cage, is set to be released on Friday, August 18 only on Netflix.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 is reportedly set to premiere in early January 2018 at its new time slot on Friday nights at 9/8c on ABC.
