10 The Defenders/Marvel Cinematic Universe Crossovers We Want To See

10. Iron Fist vs The Marvel Universe

Iron Fist

Alright, so this first one is a bit more open-ended, but I promise the entries following this one will get a lot more specific.

Truth be told, this was probably the toughest entry to write, mostly because I personally have the least amount of knowledge on Iron Fist, as opposed to the other Defenders. The show was also a lot of fans’ least favorite of all the Marvel Netflix series. Early word is that the writing for the character has improved in The Defenders, but I still think the character has a long way to go on his own before anyone starts worrying about throwing him in the ring with some movie characters. However, in a perfect world where the Netflix version of Iron Fist is as awesome as he is in the comics, I’d love to see him go toe-to-toe with just about anyone on the Marvel Cinematic Universe roster.

The problem with finding a great Iron Fist/MCU crossover for the purposes of a list like this is that, as long as the character has been around in the comics, he has mostly interacted with heroes that are already well-established in the Netflix universe — characters like Daredevil, Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, and, of course, Luke Cage, Danny Rand’s best friend and fellow Hero for Hire. Sure, there have also been instances of Danny crossing paths with a character in the comics who also exists on the movie side of the MCU, but they are fewer and farther between. In the comics, Iron Fist has crossed over with Captain America, Spider-Man, Namor the Sub-Mariner (a character whose rights have finally reverted back to Marvel as of last year, according to Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada), and many, many more. These meetings would more often than not follow the standard comic book procedure of the misunderstanding which then leads to a fight and then a team-up.

For a character like Iron Fist, who is a living weapon, seeing him face off with any MCU character would be a treat, but aside from some of the aforementioned characters like Cap and Spidey, I think I would probably most want to see what happens when The Immortal Iron Fist goes mano y mano with the Sorceror Supreme himself, Doctor Strange. That could be a blast!
