‘Blade Runner 2049’ Director Denis Villeneuve Addresses ‘Bond 25’ Rumors

Denis Villeneuve James Bond 25While Daniel Craig has confirmed that he will return for the 25th entry in the James Bond film franchise, the project is currently without a director to helm 007’s next mission. During the summer it was reported that Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve the shortlist to helm the latest Bond film and now the filmmaker has addressed those reports himself in an interview with Time Out Magazine.

While Villeneuve would not confirm anything, he did express how it would a “pleasure” for him to direct the 25th James Bond film:

“I cannot talk about that. But let’s say that for me to do a Bond movie would be a deep, deep pleasure.”

Skyfall and Spectre writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will return to pen the script. An unconfirmed rumor alleged that Bond 25 would involve 007 stepping out of retirement to avenge the death of his wife.
