Disney has unveiled a detailed model offering the first look at the Disney Parks Star Wars Land expansion on display at the D23 biennial Expo in Anaheim, CA.
The Star Wars Land expansion taking place at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California will transport fans to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. For the first time ever fans will be able to step into the Star Wars universe with a 14-acre immersive environment that’s set to introduce fans to a planet they have never seen before — a gateway planet located on the outer rim with places and characters both new and old. Fans will be able to embark on their own heroes journey and even fly a mission aboard the Millenium Falcon as they experience a climactic battle in the Star Wars universe.
The park will feature both the Resistance and the First Order as well as Bounty Hunters and Smugglers which fans will be able to help out and support the characters of their choosing. In addition, Star Wars Land will also include new droids each with their own unique personality.
The images released showcase below showcases the design of the park which serves as an outpost that is a safe haven for those who may want to avoid the dominance of the First Order. The world itself looks to draw influence from the designs of Naboo, Tatooine, Takodana, and Yavin 4. You can check out the first look at what Star Wars Land will be in the gallery below.
The Star Wars Land Disney park expansions come to life thanks to Disney’s partnership with WDI and the team members at Lucasfilm. For more than 25 years, Disney has been collaborating with Lucasfilm on ways to make these parks a reality and it will all finally come to fruition when the park expansions open in 2019.
Expect more news on Star Wars Land to be revealed during D23 this weekend and stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Star Wars franchise as we learn it.
