Disney To Bring ‘Last Jedi,’ ‘Han Solo’ & ‘Infinity War’ Footage To Theaters

Disney Last Jedi Han Solo Infinity War

If you have been to a movie theater in the past ten or so years, then you’re probably familiar with FirstLook, the pre-movie show that has been running before your feature presentation in thousands of theaters across the country for over a decade now. Well, I hope you’re not a huge FirstLook fan, because it is about to be replaced by an all-new brand of pre-movie entertainment in the form of a new movie preshow called Noovie, which will soon be the best place to check out behind-the-scenes footage from upcoming Star Wars, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures films.

According to THR, Walt Disney has struck a deal with National CineMedia (which is partially-owned by AMC, Regal and Cinemark movie theater chains) to provide exclusive behind-the-scenes content to Noovie, which will be replacing FirstLook starting this Friday. The preshow will run about twenty minutes long, with five minutes of that runtime devoted to a segment called Noovie Backlot, for which Disney will be supplying their BTS content.

Disney’s partnership with National CineMedia will begin with Pixar’s Coco, and will subsequently feature sneak peek looks at Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Marvel’s Black Panther, Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 and the untitled Star Wars Han Solo solo movie. The partnership will at least run through June 2018.

National CineMedia CEO Andy England said on the new venture:

“We want to give people a reason to arrive earlier. We want to dial up the entertainment value.”

The company is also working on a Noovie.com website to feature its exclusive video, and will also be partnering with other digital outlets. Noovie will also feature content from musical acts, and will promote its Fantasy Movie League.

Will you be making sure you arrive at the theater early enough to check out all of the latest Star Wars, Marvel and Disney behind-the-scenes content? Let us know in the comments section below.
