‘Doctor Strange’: Unused Concept Art Of Kaecilius’ Zealots Released

As the year comes to an end, fans are eagerly awaiting the next slate of films to come from Marvel Studios in 2017. However, as Doctor Strange continues to enjoy box office success, conceptual artist Karla Ortiz has been sharing unused and early designs for the Sorcerer Supreme’s cinematic debut. Now, Ortiz has updated her website to include unused designs for Kaecilius’s followers.

The early costume designs appear to be darker than the ones ultimately chosen to appear in the final film.

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.

Directed by Scott Derrikson and co-written by C. Robert Cargill, Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.
