Elizabeth Olsen recently spoke with USA Today to promote the home video release of Avengers: Age Of Ultron and of course was asked about her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While speaking about playing the character of Wanda Maximoff, the actress enthusiastically said that it’s “so crazy and mind-blowing being part of something that has that wide audience internationally” and that she is “loving every time I get to go back to playing Scarlet Witch”.
When asked about her appearance in next year’s Captain America: Civil War, Olsen stated that Wanda is “coming into her own” in the film and “starting to understand and have conflict with how she wants to use her abilities” before going on to add the following about the film.
At the end of Age Of Ultron fans were teased by a possible connection between two characters. When asked if there is there a chance that we could see a romance between Wanda and Paul Bettany’s The Vision in the future, Olsen commented briefly on the subject.
While a direct adaptation of that story is nearly impossible for Marvel Studios to pull off due to character rights, there’s always the chance that we could see them play around with the basic concept somewhere down the line. Would that be a route you’d like to see them take the character? Let us know in the comments below.
The Scarlet Witch will have to choose a side when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
