Emily Carmichael Set To Direct ‘Lumberjanes’

20th Century Fox have found a director for their upcoming Lumberjanes film, Emily Carmichael. Carmichael is the second female director hired onto a Fox movie recently. She was also rumoured to be a contender for Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel.

Ross Richie and Stephen Christy will be producing the project along with Adam Yoelin co-producing. Will Widger will be writing the screenplay.

The live-action movie will tell the story of five young girls at summer camp. The girls must come together and unite to fight a major supernatural threat that will directly impact the camp and the surrounding forest.

Lumberjanes is a comic book series was originally created by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis and Noelle Stevenson. Lumberjanes is published via BOOM!’s BOOM! Box imprint. The series has already sold over 500,000 copies worldwide since its debut two years ago.
