The latest X-Men: Apocalypse trailer featured a few major surprises, including that Wolverine reveal but another scene got the Internet talking. Quicksilver (Evan Peters) tells Mystique/Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) that Magento (Michael Fassbender) is in fact his father.
Peters opened up during an early press day for the film about why this revelation is so important to his character.
“It’s a big motivation for Quicksilver to get out of his mom’s basement,” said Peters. “He’s trying to find his father and help him out.”
The X-Men: Days of Future Past star also added that this new relationship will greatly change the dynamics between Magneto and Quicksilver.
“It’s tough, man, it’s a hard thing to meet with an estranged father. It’s a very difficult thing. It’s a very real thing. So it was interesting to play that side of Quicksilver.”
