Evangeline Lilly Wants Captain Marvel To Lead An All-Female ‘Avengers’ Movie

Ant-Man and the Wasp Evangeline Lilly Ant-Man and the Wasp star Evangeline Lilly says that Brie Larson as Captain Marvel should lead an all-female Avengers team.

While men have ruled the superhero line up for a long time, one actress believes it is time for an all-female roster Avengers. That actress Evangeline Lilly from the Ant-Man franchise. Speaking to PopBuzz, Evangeline Lilly says the one person who should lead that team is Captain Marvel:

“Well, it seems only natural Captain Marvel would lead because she is a general? And she’s the captain. And Captain America leads the other Avengers, right, so maybe Captain Marvel would lead. I’d think so.”

She further states that having such a female roster would allow for creativity and reinvention because such an idea has never been done on film:

“I think I’m being a bit old fashioned and maybe a little bit rigid about this, because if it is an all-female Avengers film, then the sky’s the limit. We can reinvent the wheel. We don’t have to do anything that anyone’s ever done before. We can just make it all up and change the game.”

She does have a point because when The Avengers came out there was nothing else like it previously which allowed for endless possibilities. She then comments about if such team existed during Infinity War, the women would have defeated Thanos:

“Because I would have been on [the team], and it means I would have shrunk very small, [and] I would have flown into Thanos’ ear, punched a hole in his brain, and he would have fallen down dead. Simple.”
