Every ‘Star Wars’ Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

10. Attack of the Clones

Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones

It’s safe to say that while the prequel trilogy is loved by some fans, it’s often the most criticized films in within the Star Wars saga. Starting off our countdown is Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Clones utilized a massive amount of CGI effects while lacking any character development.  It was missing the heart of what make the franchise great, the characters. It also featured some of the worst dialogue in the franchise, including, “I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.”

I prefer Rogue One and Revenge of the Sith over The Force Awakens.
    …..
    Sue me.

    • Carl

Where do I send the paper?

    • Doug

I agree w/ Rogue One. Revenge of the Sith is trash.

    • Thanostic

I prefer all 3 of those over Return of the Jedi.

  • Carl

    My new Star Wars ranking:

    1. Empire Strikes Back
    2. The Force Awakens
    3. A New Hope
    4. Return of the Jedi
    5. Rogue One
    6. The Phantom Menace
    7. Revenge of the Sith
    8. Attack of the Clones

    • Maxi Iroh

Force Awakens isn’t better than Star Wars.

      • Carl

Is to me. It’s very close though.

  • Plínio Chaparin

    1-A New Hope
    2-Empire Strikes Back
    3-Rogue One
    4-Return of the Jedi
    5-Revenge of the Sith
    6-Force Awakens
    7-Phantom Menace
    8-Attack of the Clones

I like A New Hope more than Empire, but I know Empire is a better film.

  • Daniel

    1. The Empire Strikes Back
    2. Revenge of the Sith

    4. Return of the Jedi

    (Haven’t seen Rogue One yet)

  • Frederico P. Antunes

    1. The Empire Strikes Back
    2. A New Hope
    3. Rogue One
    4. Revenge of the Sith
    5. The Force Awakens
    6. Return of the Jedi
    7. The Phantom Menace
    8. Attack of the Clones

  • Zachary Weinberger

Same list I would personally switch Force Awakens and Return of the Jedi.

  • Liam Argent

When I actually focus on the quality of story, writing, acting and film-making this is list to end all lists. Although I like A New Hope, it has aged terribly. Putting my nostalgia to the side it isn’t a very good film at all unlike Empire which is still fantastic!

    1. Empire Strikes Back
    2. The Force Awakens
    3. Return of the Jedi
    4. Rogue One
    5. Revenge of the Sith
    6. A New Hope
    7. Attack of the Clones
    8. The Phantom Menace

  • Doug

1-Empire Strikes Back (This should be unanimous)
2-Rogue One (The last 30 minutes was insane)
3-A New Hope (It’s the original so I rank it for its time. The Vader-Kenobi duel sucked)
4-Force Awakens (A New Hope on steroids)
5-Return of the Jedi (Call it nostalgia. The Ewoks are dumb)
6-Revenge of the Sith (“She lost the will to live” … yeah, there’s that)
7-Attack of the Clones (Yoda as Sonic the Hedgehog and the crummy romance)
8-Phantom Menace (one cool lightsaber duel and the rest is garbage)

  • Thanostic

    1) Empire Strikes Back (might never be topped)
    2) The Force Awakens (the start of something special)
    3) Rogue One (I like this more each day…might end up at #2)
    4) Revenge of the Sith (the transformation to Vader, and Vader vs Obi Wan)
    5) A New Hope (hate the lightsaber duel, but this one started it all)
    6) Return of the Jedi (Ewoks, Luke turning Vader inept at the end of their duel…)
    7) Attack of the Clones (ahead of TPM by virtue of Yoda vs Dooku and…)
    8) The Phantom Menace (the intro – and most extensive use – of Jar Jar)

    • Matias Gagliardone

      Almost agree

  • Matias Gagliardone

    1) Empire Strikes Back (I’m craving for something to beat it)
    2) Rogue One (that last Vader scene was one of my dreams come true)
    3) The Force Awakens (Han Solo and Chewbacca were great but needed more Luke)
    4) Revenge of the Sith (Anakin vs Obi-Wan, Yoda vs the Emperor, Grievious)
    5) A New Hope (I just love Han and Chewie but Vader vs Kenobi was lame)
    6) Return of the Jedi (might be higher but Ewoks although I love Luke’s evolution)
    7) Attack of the Clones (wasn’t last because of Yoda and Jango Fett)
    8) The Phantom Menace (loved Qui-Gon but Jar Jar)

PS: Had a really tough time deciding between Rogue One, TFA and ROTS

  • Joseph Chaisson

Shocked with Return’s hate. It has the greatest Light Saber battle. The light saber battle has most emotional toll, greatest score, and Mark’s acting is top notch. That light saber battle is second to none.

  • Matias Gagliardone

I used to think that the Original Trilogy was so much better but after rewatching a little while ago I can tell you that Return of the Jedi was probably the worst. I mean the characters and the ideas are wonderful but they still fall short upon execution, to me the top three are The Last Jedi, The Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith. Then in this order: Rogue One, The Attack of the Clones, A New Hope, The Phantom Menace, Return of the Jedi.

  • James Corriveau

I wouldn’t rank The Last Jedi that high at all.

  • Bucket

lmao what a bunch of shills, TLJ i worse than clone wars.

  • Carl

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, here’s a serious list:

    1. Empire
    2. Force Awakens
    3. A New Hope
    4. Return
    5. Rogue One
    6. Last Jedi
    7. Phantom
    8. Revenge
    9. Attack

    • shaheed

      Close.
      1. ESB
      2. New Hope
      3.Force Awakenss
      4. Return
      5. Rogue One
      6. Revenge
      7. Phantom
      8. Attack
      9. Last Jedi

Revenge, Phantom, & Attack had at least 1 scene each that was awesome (Anakin/Obi Wan,Maul battle, Yodi/Dooku) no such scene in TLJ.

      • Carl

I might just change my ranking to put Last Jedi only above Attack of the Clones. I’ve soured on it more over time.

  • Maxi Iroh

    1. Empire
    2. A New Hope
    3. Force Awakens
    4. Return
    5. Last Jedi
    6. Revenge
    7. Solo
    8. Rogue One
    9. Phantom
    10. Attack

  • Adam Selene

The critics were right. TLJ really is the best Star Wars since ESB. Time will be good to it, as it has been for ESB, which many fans hated when it came out.

The films are both tragic middle chapters in trilogies. Neither ended on an especially happy note, which angered some fans with superficial tastes. But both added emotional heft to their respective trilogies that helped make the surrounding films resonate more strongly.
