Fan Recreates ‘The Dark Knight’ Trailer Starring Tommy Wiseau As The Joker

Tommy Wiseau Joker Todd PhillipsThe Tommy Wiseau as Joker fan-casting continues to rule the Internet, this time in the form of a teaser trailer starring the infamous director as the Clown Prince of Crime.

Uploaded by The Dangerous Brew, the fake trailer splices scenes from The Dark Knight and Wiseau’s cult hit The Room to paint a new sinister version of Batman’s deadliest foe. Heath Ledger is noticeably absent, with narration also coming from The Room.

Wiseau himself has fueled much of the campaign to land the coveted role in the upcoming Todd Phillips Joker project, though he has some stiff competition from the likes of Joaquin Phoenix and other acclaimed actors.  He shared some fan art on his Twitter account yesterday decked out in Joker makeup and his own signature sunglasses, making it very clear in his tweet that he “wants to be THE JOKER!”

The standalone, non-DC Extended Universe Joker movie does not currently have a release date. The film is slated to be directed by Todd Phillips, produced by Martin Scorsese, and written by Phillips and Scott Silver.

Fortunately, he’s a character who can be molded to fit his environment. He’s equally at home in The LEGO Batman Movie getting his feelings hurt as he is pushing Superman to the brink in the Injustice video game franchise.

For all you Suicide Squad fans out there wondering why Jared Leto isn’t on the list, don’t worry I got an answer for you. I didn’t like him! Man oh man, I thought he was terrible honestly. Laughable in the wrong sense of the word. Perhaps some of the cut scenes might have changed my mind, but from what I saw I wasn’t left wanting more.
