‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald’ To Feature Baby Nifflers & ‘Cursed Child’ Connection

Fantastic Beasts Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will feature baby Nifflers and a connection to the play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Entertainment Weekly revealed new beasts that will appear in the upcoming Wizarding World film. The Niffler was a fan favorite in the first film and The Crimes of Grindelwald will have Newt dealing with a litter of newborns. The sequel will also introduce the Kelpie described as, “a Scottish underwater creature that can be mounted and ridden,” and a leucrotta, “a large moose-like creature with an impossible huge month.”

The Crimes of Grindelwald will also feature a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child connection with the Augurey, “an owl-like creature whose cry is believed to foretell death.” In the Cursed Child, the character Delphini has a tattoo of the Augurey’s feathers. The creatures’ feathers are also apart of the Tony Award-winning play’s logo.

In addition to the new information, Entertainment Weekly provided a new look at the baby niffler:

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.

Directed by Harry Potter veteran David Yates, the film stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Johnny Depp, Ezra Miller, Jude Law, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, David Sakurai, Claudia Kim, Brontis Jodorowsky, Wolf Roth, Victoria Yeates, Derek Riddell, Poppy Corby-Tuech, and Cornell S. John.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald opens on November 16, 2018.

Ben Affleck Batman DC Comics Characters As one of the DC’s most popular heroes, Batman has starred in quite a few films. After Christopher Nolan wrapped up his Dark Knight trilogy, the character was quickly reintroduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and was a key player in Justice League. The Caped Crusader is set to return in his own movie, potentially titled The Batman, with Matt Reeves, the director of Cloverfield and the last two Planet of the Apes movies, behind the camera.

At the moment, nothing is known about the film’s plot or who will appear, but with Batman in the title role odds are other key DC characters will appear.
