Last year, we found out that Universal Studios would be moving forward with three more Fast and Furious movies following the release of James Wan’s Furious 7, which surprisingly became one of the highest grossing movies of all-time. The eight installment of the franchise, which is slated to hit theaters on April 14, 2017, will reportedly start filming in a few months, but we now know the release dates of the two follow-ups.
As per usual with any news regarding the franchise, the announcement was made by Vin Diesel himself. The actor took to Instagram today to announce that Fast and Furious 9 will arrive on April 19, 2019, while the tenth movie in the franchise is scheduled to open in theaters on April 2, 2021. Personally, I don’t mind seeing another trilogy of these movies, but I’m really wondering how they’re going to move forward with the franchise. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw them in space for the final movie, if there’s ever going to be one. What do you guys think? Sound-off your thoughts in the comment section.
