The Fate of the Furious wins the Friday box office with $11.2 million. The film, the eighth in the Fast and the Furious franchise is expected to remain in the number one spot in its second weekend. The movie has now grossed approximately $160 million domestically and has since opened in more theaters nationwide.

Last week, The Fate of the Furious took in a stunning $532 million globally, beating out Stars Wars: The Force Awakens for the biggest opening of a film worldwide. In China, it took in an impressive $192.1 million alone. After its second weekend at the box office, the film is sure to continue grossing more money globally. Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game — and the rest of the crew has been exonerated — the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron.
