The final look at X-Men: Apocalypse has hit the web. This new action-packed trailer consists of mostly entirely new footage from the film. Apocalypse looks like another Bryan Singer X-Men classic, showing off new characters and a few very familiar faces.
The following contains our top ten moments from the final X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, including interesting plot developments, new characters and a surprise cameo fans had been hoping for.
For those who aren’t as familiar with the X-Men comic series, Apocalypse, Oscar Isaac, is the world’s first and most powerful mutant. After thousands of years, Apocalypse is awakened and intends to create a different world from the ashes of this one. He recruits a team of powerful mutants to assist him with his evil world domination, this team is referred to as the Four Horsemen, Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Angel (Ben Hardy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender).
“Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.”

10. New Mutants
This trailer shows off the fact that this movie will feature an entire new class of mutants. Some of our favorite characters are being taken on by new actors. Mystique is assembling a new class of mutants to fight back against Apocalypse and rescue Charles Xavier. This trailer shows the formation of a new generation of X-Men that will be taking over for the original X-Men cast that was featured in the early films. Complete with Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Scott Summers (Tye Sheridan), Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence. We are able to see them come together as a team and embrace what it means to be a part of this legendary team.
Kurt Wagner is taking on the role of Nightcrawler and while a number of new mutants are being featured in this film, this is a character that fans have been wanting more of since his debut during X2. Nightcrawler is back and looks amazing. Without a doubt, this is a character that needs to return to the X-Men and the big screen. It appears that he will be playing a big role in fighting against Apocalypse after he is recruited by Mystique.
8. Larger Scale
Bryan Singer is once again stepping up the visuals and destruction in X-Men: Apocalypse. This trailer has his X-Men signature throughout it and it’s clear that this is and always will be Singer’s franchise. The X-Men aren’t just fighting for their school or a city, instead they are defending the world from an evil unlike anything they have ever encountered before. This movie feels larger both in scale, stakes and authenticity.
X-Men: Apocalypse is turning into Mystique’s movie. She has become the leader of the X-Men and is leading the fight against Apocalypse.
6. Professor X
This trailer gives us another look at Charles Xavier/Professor X. He witnesses the power that Apocalypse has and in a state of shock and amazement, Xavier realizes the threat that he is up against. “I’ve never felt power like this before.” In what is like to be an epic battle, Xavier goes head-to-head with Apocalypse and is captured. This forces Mystique to step up as the leader of the X-Men and assemble them to fight back and save Charles.
5. Magneto’s Backstory
Fans have been wondering what would make Magneto join forces with someone like Apocalypse and this trailer addresses that issue head on. While talking to Charles Xavier/Professor X, Magneto says “Any good you saw in me, I buried with my family.” Was this the turning point that allowed Magneto to join Apocalypse and become a member of the Four Horsemen?
4. Four Horsemen
Leading up to the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, more information has been coming out about why these four mutants have decided to follow Apocalypse. In this trailer we see them fully assembled, following their new leader.
Apocalypse is the oldest mutant in history and the main threat for our favorite X-Men. Within this trailer we learn more about Apocalypse, the fact that he can steal the powers from other mutants which has helped him rise to power. Audiences once again get a good look at Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse and the full costume, which looks more and more like versions from the comic book.
Fans were blown away by how Quicksilver was portrayed in Days of Future Past and it should come as no surprise that his character will be seen more in this film. Throughout the trailer the tone has a level of intensity and fear behind it, in this moment Quicksilver brings in the comedy and admits that it is official, “Magneto is my dad.” Mystique’s reaction to the news is almost as funny as the statement itself.
Despite ongoing rumors and reports that Wolverine would not be appearing in X-Men: Apocalypse, this trailer puts all of these rumors to reset. In a post trailer tag scene, Wolverine’s famous claws can be seen. Causing X-Men and comic books fans alike to celebrate. The question remains, will this be Hugh Jackman or could this be a new actor taking on the role? It would seem likely that Jackman would be making an appearance before Wolverine 3, Jackman has never missed an X-Men movie.
