Now that critics have screened Avengers: Infinity War and the social media embargo is up, the first reactions to the year’s most anticipated superhero film have hit the web.
Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo from a script written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The film follows the fractured Avengers team assembling with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos before he collects all six Infinity Stones.
The first reactions from critics have praised the culmination of the Marvel cinematic universe as “a spectacle” and “phenomenal.” You can check out some of the reactions below.
So overwhelmed at what I saw in #AvengersInfinityWarPremiere I'm still processing. It's an epic event unlike anything you ever seen. I would follow the Russo's advice about staying offline because the movie has major reveals!

Avengers: Infinity War blew my mind. I have never left a film this awestruck. Ever. Thanos is a force of Nature. Thor is the MVP. Marvel Studios lays down the Infinity Gauntlet with this one.

So #InfinityWar takes the Marvel universe to a whole new orbit.

#InfinityWar is everything you want, nothing you expect. It’s funny, surprising, dark, filled with delightful interplay between characters never seen on screen before. I know many filmmakers say they are trying to make a sequel in the vein of Empire Strikes Back, this succeeds.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR has like ten legit “chill down the spine” great moments. But it’s for sure the first half of a two part movie and I left a little unsatisfied/frustrated, maybe by design … at least that’s how I feel right now three hours later.

Jaw on ground. You are not ready for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. All you have to know is AVOID ALL SPOILERS! Seriously. Go in knowing as little as possible. The @Russo_Brothers did the impossible. Wow. pic.twitter.com/noKZ5cQWdc

Avenger: Infinity War is a spectacle. It’s enormous. It’s bigger than anyone is ready for and it’s an absolute roller coaster.
It’s dark. It’s fun. It’s heavy. It’s thrilling. Infinity War is unlike anything that has ever come before it.

I saw #AvengersInfinityWar earlier tonight and I can say that it delivers. There’s a lot of really fun character interactions, some cool action moments (Thor’s powers, Iron Man’s suit), and a few powerful emotional beats. Most of the humor is 👌🏻 Also Captain America is 💥 pic.twitter.com/WoZNPDpGXk

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: A movie version of a massive comic-book crossover, for better (fun character interactions) and worse (it’s pretty much all Infinity Stone shenanigans). YMMV. #avengersinfinitywar
