First ‘Logan’ TV Spot Forgets To Add New Footage

The first TV Spot for 20th Century Fox’s Logan has debuted and with it comes… not a single second of new footage. Remember that great opening scene from the last full trailer, where young Laura Kinney, aka X-23, attempts her best Eleven from Stranger Things impression and tries to steal some Pringles and a pair of sunglasses from a convenience store, and then Logan comes in and pretends to act like a parent? Yeah, it’s pretty much just that again.

Don’t believe me? Check out the TV spot, appropriately titled “Not Okay,” below:

See there? Told ya.

But really though, it’s fine that there isn’t any new footage yet in this spot, it’s the first one. Surely there will be many more TV spots in the weeks to come. For me, TV spots tend to spoil significant parts of movies more often than the full trailers do, so I usually tend to avoid as many of them as I can. Personally, I hope they at least hold off on showing us too much new footage for as long as possible. Maybe a shot or two of Steven Merchant’s Caliban would be nice, as we know he’s in the film and have seen a few images of him already, but I really don’t wanna see too much of anything. I am so excited for this movie and would hate to get it ruined for me by a bad or spoiler-inflicting TV spot before I can get a chance to sit down in a theater and experience it for myself.

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Hugh Jackman returns for one last hooray as Wolverine when Logan hits theaters March 3, 2017.
