First Look & Details For ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters’ Officially Revealed

GodzillaThe first look and details for Legendary’s upcoming MonterVerse film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, have been revealed ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.

Entertainment Weekly has released the first look at Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The first look comes about a week before the Warner Bros. Comic-Con presentation in Hall-H. The film is set to take place five years after the first film and director Michael Dougherty revealed new details regarding how the world has reacted to Godzilla and Rodan:

“The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting..but there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.”

“Rodan’s been kind of a sidekick character, but I’ve always had a soft spot for him,” Dougherty states. “In a lot of ways he’s more powerful than Godzilla. He’s like this winged A-bomb. I think we’ve done him justice.”

Dougherty also revealed the Godzilla sequel will expand on the monster’s atomic breath:

“Not without giving away too much,” he laughs. “But it takes place at a very key moment and it’s a sort of call to arms.”

You can also check out a new image of  Vera Farmiga’s Dr. Emma Russell and her daughter Madison, portrayed by Stranger Things‘ Millie Bobby Brown:

Godzillla: King of the Monsters stars Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Anthony Ramos, Charles Dance, Elizabeth Ludlow, Zhang Ziyi, Anthony Ramos, Ken Watanabe, Randy Havens, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Thomas Middleditch, Bradley Whitford, and Sally Hawkins.

Humanity’s existence hangs in the balance when the mighty Godzilla collides with Mothra, Rodan and the three-headed monster King Ghidorah.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be released on May 31, 2019.
