Listen To The First Song From The ‘Stranger Things 2’ Soundtrack

Netflix Stranger Things 2 banner poster trailerSpoiler warning: this article contains a potential spoiler for Stranger Things 2.

Netflix has released the first song as well as the tracklist and cover art from the Stranger Things 2 soundtrack, which is set for digital release October 20.

The streaming service isn’t wasting any time this season. When the series first debuted, composers Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon had mere weeks to mix together a soundtrack for the series after audiences demanding it be released. Stein and Dixon rushed to put together two volumes that would go on to both receive Grammy nominations.

For Stranger Things 2, Stein and Dixon return to deliver what is once again a throwback to the popular synth scores heard in ’80s cinema, but with a modern edge. The first track from the sequel season “Walkin’ in Hawkins” oozes with familiarity as it returns us to the world created by Matt and Ross Duffer. The new score will also introduce new sounds into the series, incorporate instruments such as pianos and acoustic guitars.

In addition to the first song, the soundtrack tracklist, and the cover art has also been revealed. But beware, The Duffer Brothers have teased that the new season begins somewhere outside of Hawkins, Indiana and the tracklist seems to giveaway where the opening scene seems to be. You can listen to the first song on Soundcloud and check out the cover art and tracklist below.
