‘The Flash’ Actor Wants To See Michelle Harrison As DC’s Rose & Thorn

The Flash

Sometimes, even the stars themselves have fan castings of their own…

During The Flash panel at Dragon*Con 2017 in Atlanta this weekend, John Wesley Shipp — who played Barry’s father Henry Allen for two seasons and now plays the real Jay Garrick, The Flash of Earth-3 — says that he wants to see Michelle Harrison, who plays Nora Allen in flashbacks and alternate timelines, as an Earth-3 version of DC Comics’ Rose and Thorn.

The actor’s comment came during a conversation about the crossovers with The CW’s other DC superhero shows the cast would like to see. Here is what Shipp said:

“One person I’d like to interact with on my show, now that I’m an Earth-3 Jay Garrick… How many of you people know about the character Rose and Thorn.” [points to Michelle Harrison] “Wouldn’t that be incredible? To have Jay Garrick and [Rose connect]?”

Michelle Harrison herself also seemed keen on this idea, adding:

“Green costume and the black boots. I’ve been waiting for that for a long time.”

If you don’t know who they’re talking about, Rhosyn “Rose” Forrest was the daughter of a slain Metropolis police officer who would go to sleep and her other personality, called Thorn, would go out at night as a vigilante to take down the gang that killed her father. This would be a really interesting use of both a unique character and a fantastic actress that doesn’t get nearly enough play in the show. Plus, it would just be great to explore a bit more of Earth-3.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton as Iris West, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells, Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West and Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash. Here’s the official synopsis:

Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.

The Flash returns for its fourth season on October 10th at 8/9c on The CW.

10 Heroes We Want To See In ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 3

Legends

**This article contains spoilers for the Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 finale.**

The Season 2 Finale for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (check out my review if you haven’t already) certainly left things off on an interesting note. But now’s the time to look to the future. It’s time to look ahead to Season 3.

Legends showrunner Phil Klemmer recently teased new characters appearing in Season 3. That’s what’s great about this type of show is the ability to regularly swap team members in and out. It helps keep the show fresh. As Klemmer puts it, in this show, “the only thing that has to remain is the Waverider.” The DC universe is packed with awesome characters that would be perfect for an appearance in Legends and this show provides the unique opportunity to introduce DC superheroes and villains from any place and any time. Whether it be the past, as was the case with recurring characters like Jonah Hex or the Justice Society of America, or the future, as we saw with Connor Hawke in Season 1, this show can make it work. So, we thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the characters that could possibly appear on Legends of Tomorrow Season 3.

First, though, a couple of disclaimers. Some of these characters are more likely to actually appear on the show than others, but all of them could work with a little creative writing. Some of these people might have appeared in the Arrowverse before, but not on Legends of Tomorrow (for the most part). Some might make more sense in a one-off appearance while some could work as potential new season-long team members. Finally, I didn’t include any of the characters that are already appearing in the DCEU films.

So, without further adieu, here are the 10 heroes we want to see in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3. Hit the next button below to begin!

Shipp is presumably referring to the villainous Rose Canton version of Thorn who was a Golden Age enemy of Jay Garrick’s Flash, not the later Rose Forrest vigilante Thorn.
