DC Comics writer, Sterling Gates, has joined The Flash season four’s writing team. Gates posted the news to Twitter and revealed he’ll also be sharing office space with fellow writer, Thomas Pound, who is also a new writer for the show. Gates has written comic book stories for The Flash, Supergirl, Kid Flash, and Vibe, among others.

The well has been relatively dry when it comes to The Flash season four news. It’s not clear whether the writers and producers are trying really hard to keep everything under wraps. The only concrete news we have right now is that Barry is still stuck in the speed force and that Iris will be taking over leadership duties for Team Flash. The Thinker will reportedly be the season four villain, but there has surprisingly been no casting news and no concrete story news, either (besides the reveal of the first episode’s title).
Perhaps they’re waiting until San Diego Comic Con rolls around next week, but it is relatively strange that The CW’s highest-rated show has yet to release any news about the upcoming season to get fans excited. By this time last year, we knew that Keiynan Lonsdale would be suiting up as Kid Flash and Tom Felton would be joining the cast.
Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.
The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, October 4 at 8/7c on The CW.

DCTV’s Arrowverse Episode Roundup: Season Finale Edition
Welcome back to the DCTV Arrowverse episode roundup! This week in The CW’s superhero universe, our heroes dealt with victories, goodbyes, and final battles with enemies.
You can check out all of my previous DCTV Arrowverse episode roundups here!
On Supergirl, Kara took on Rhea in a trial by combat and said goodbye to Mon-El, The Flash showed compassion to Savitar, Barry’s hero arc came full circle and Iris saved the day, and Arrow took on Prometheus with the help of friends and foes, and the final moments circled back around to the show’s pilot episode in a nicely done fashion.
The unifying theme for the shows this week is that each superhero took on their enemies without stooping to their level and for at least two of the three shows, certain storylines came to a nice close.
Each episode roundup recaps the show’s main plot points, with a section for commentary. This will be the final episode roundup for the 2016-2017 season.
