Deadline reports Frederick Schmidt (Supergirl) has landed a role in the upcoming sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise.
Character details remain a mystery as the plot itself is still under wraps. Schmidt joins Tom Cruise who stars alongside Henry Cavill and The Crown actress Vanessa Kirby in the film. The cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris and Sherlock star Sian Brooke. Franchise favorite Simon Pegg is also expected to return for another outing as Benji.
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie returns to helm the sixth installment. McQuarrie is also producing the film along with Cruise, Don Granger and J.J. Abrams as well as David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance Productions.
The film to shot with entirely with IMAX 3D cameras will commence principal photography on April 10, lasting for about 100 days and will shoot in Paris, London, India and New Zealand.
Mission: Impossible – 6 is currently slated to hit theaters on July 27, 2018.
