After nearly a week of posters and other images during the #12DaysOfDeadpool promotional event, fans have been treated to something a little different as the campaign reaches its halfway point. The sixth day marks the release of a full page from the screenplay, which features minor dialogue between Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and his sidekick, Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand). The bulk of the page consists of action between Deadpool and Colossus (Andre Tricoteux), although the cause of their fight is unclear. The page also includes copious script notes by Wade Wilson, the mercenary behind the anti-hero’s mask.
Most of Deadpool’s script notes appear to be heckling screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, along with some of the character’s usual naughty banter. He also pays tribute to his love for tacos and throws out a reference to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Probably the most notable script note is actually at the very top, where he accuses director Tim Miller of leaking the test footage that was revealed back in July of 2014.
Of course, the script itself is the most notable part of this reveal. While this appears to be only the beginning of a presumably much longer action sequence, it’s clear from what follows that Deadpool will not be quite as untouchable as he often appears to be in the comics. He will certainly deliver a great deal of over-the-top action, but he’ll also have his weaknesses. It should also be interesting to see how Colossus fits into this story, and whether or not this leads to any further affiliation between Deadpool and the X-Men.
Deadpool releases on February 12, 2016. For now, #12DaysOfDeadpool continues tomorrow with a new offering from Deadpool Core.
