HBO In Negotiations For Two More Seasons Of ‘Game of Thrones’; Season 6 Premiere Date Announced

During the TCA winter press tour on Thursday, Michael Lombardo, the Programming President of HBO, revealed that the cable network is currently in negotiations to renew Game of Thrones for two more seasons. However, that’s not really surprising considering the immense success of the fantasy series. An official announcement is expected to arrive before the premiere of the upcoming season.

Additionally, HBO has announced that the sixth season of the series will premiere on April 24th. Most of the previous seasons premiered within the first two weeks of April, so this time, the show will arrive later than usual. The announcement comes on the heels of news that The Winds of Winter, the latest entry in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga, won’t arrive before the show returns.

What do you guys think? Are you disappointed that you’ll have to wait an extra week to find out what happened to Jon Snow? Sound-off your thoughts in the comment section.
