‘Game Of Thrones’: Ed Sheeran Reveals Details About Role In Season 7

Game Thrones
English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed the first details about his role in the upcoming seventh season of HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones.

Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announced Sheeran would guest star sometime during season 7 at a panel last month at the SXSW festival in Austin, TX. Sheeran has been trying to make an appearance on the series for several seasons now but scheduling conflicts have prevented him from being able to do so.

The musician himself is remaining tight-lipped about who he is actually playing in the series, however, he did share one key detail in a recent interview with The Daily Star about his role in the new season:

“I do know which role I am going to play. I don’t die in it, I don’t die.”

Sheeran also added that he’s “only in it for like five minutes.” So don’t expect to see much of him. The Daily Star also reports that Sheeran filmed scenes alongside Maisie Williams last November. The musician was invited on to the series as a surprise for Williams who is a big fan of his music.

The series stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Kit Harington as Jon Snow, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Aidan Gillen as Petyr Baelish, Liam Cunningham as Ser Davos Seaworth, Carice van Houten as Melisandre, Rory McCann as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, Conleth Hill as Varys, Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth, Kristofer Hivju as Tormund Giantsbane, Isaac Hempstead Wright as Bran Stark, Jerome Flynn as Bronn, Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont, Hannah Murray as Gilly.

Game of Thrones season 7 premieres July 16, 2017.

A movie about people who decapitate each other in their search for power could conceivably get a PG-13 rating. Well, ok then.
