‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Could Feature Long-Awaited Scene In King’s Landing

Game of Thrones FinaleGame of Thrones visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer and visual effects producer Steve Kullback’s remarks during a season 7 episode commentary suggest that a long-awaited scene could be featured in the final season of the series.

During the DVD/Blu-Ray audio commentary for the season 7 episode titled “The Spoils of War”, Kullback described the requirements co-showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss had for Cersei’s Map Room:

“[We needed to] make it an exterior location in an upcoming episode, but I can’t tell you why. But that’ll pay off.”

Bauer added that the sky played an important part in the room’s design:

“[The courtyard] used to be at least a story taller, but there was a need to see the sky in this coverage.”

These comments have fans speculating that the Map Room was specifically designed so that Cersei could witness Daenerys’ – or the Knight King’s – dragons soar above King’s Landing before burning the city to the ground. If true, the scene would potentially fulfill two visions featured earlier in the series, one of which involved Daenerys walking through the ruins of the Great Hall. The second vision featured Bran flying over King’s Landing as the shadow of a dragon follows, which prompted many to believe that he would later warg into one of the dragons.

Do you think fans will see either of these two visions come true? Share your thoughts below!

Game of Thrones Daenerys Targaryen The Night King Jon SnowGame of Thrones season seven is done, so now audiences have to wait for about a year or so to find out what the epic ending will be. Regardless, season eight is set to be quite explosive! Not only will audiences be treated to watching the fall of the Night King, but Cersei Lannister is likely to finally learn how cruel karma can be. There are gonna be small, emotional moments like the reunion between Bran and Jon and massive fight scenes like the confrontation between Theon and Euron Greyjoy. No matter what happens, fans will have to accept that this is the end of the Game of Thrones story.
