Gigantic Flaw Spotted In The Newly Released ‘Shazam!’ Trailer

Shazam Movie Zachary Levi DCEarlier today Warner Bros. released a trailer for the upcoming Shazam! film and one fan has already noticed a big flaw in it.

The flaw was first spotted by twitter user RickyFTW who noticed that towards the end of the trailer something odd happens. Right after beating up a pair of would be armed robbers, Billy Batson and his adopted brother leave a convenient store with a six pack of beer in Shazam’s hands. The trailer then cuts ahead to the two holding an assortment of snacks and sodas. This left RickyFTW a little baffled:

Just noticed a new superpower that #Shazam has in the trailer… turning a 6 pack into a bunch of product placement snacks

Later on it was apparently pointed out to him that apparently there was a TV spot that explained this:

Being pointed out that there’s a tv spot with them spitting out the drinks which leads to them getting other snacks. Makes sense, still weird editing for the trailer I guess.

You can see the full tweet below:

Despite the fact that it was explained away, let’s hope that future advertisements for this film do not make the same kind of blunders.

Disney star Asher Angel has been cast as the young Billy Batson, with Zachary Levi playing the titular superhero. Grace Fulton, Cooper Andrews, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand and Faithe Herman are also on board, with Mark Strong as the villainous Doctor Sivana, a frequent foe of Shazam who first appeared opposite the superhero in the pages of Whiz Comics back in 1940.

Directed by David F. Sandberg from a script written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke, Shazam! hits theaters on April 5, 2019. Keep an eye on Heroic Hollywood as more details on this project come out.

10 DC Comics Stories That Could Top ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Previous1 of 11

Avengers Infinity War Thanos Marvel DC ComicsNow that general audiences have seen Avengers: Infinity War, nothing will ever be the same for the DC films. Avengers: Infinity War feels more like an event starring everyone’s favorite characters than a traditional movie, and it will be hard for Warner Bros. to replicate that feeling of excitement for their comic book movies. DC’s counter-part to Avengers, Justice League, didn’t achieve nearly the same level of success and now the studio has to think of a new plan to get their cinematic universe chugging along.

Fortunately, DC Comics has a huge repertoire of epic, personal stories to explore for cinematic potential. While Thanos may be more destructive than the villains in some of these stories, that doesn’t mean these adventures don’t result in real, destructive changes in the DC Universe. After forcing DC’s finest heroes to fight Doomsday and Steppenwolf, two of the publisher’s strongest villains, on the big screen so early in the cinematic universe’s history, WB may want to step back and focus on personal stories. Even if none of these plotlines make it to the big screen, and if they do they would all require some major tweaking, they are all excellent examples of DC’s finest work.

The film is a work in progress atm. They likely don’t want a kid, even in an adult’s body, walking out of the store with a 6-pack. Just sayin…

    • Peter James

Actually that scene is straight out of the comics, where they use the fact that Billy Batson looks grown-up to go and buy beer to try it out, only to find out they don’t like it, and they both immediately spit it out, and then go back in and get kids’ candies and soft drinks.

Jesus Christ, people will complain about literally everything and anything nowadays won’t they? ‘A trailer didn’t show a scene in its entirety so the movie is awful and makes no sense’.

  • Maxi Iroh

    WTF is this article?

  • Eric Boles

If you watch the leaked sizzle reel, they try beer first. They spit it out and then go back to get soda and snacks.

Blunder? It’s a trailer! No one says it has to be perfectly sequential… Shmeesh.

  • xxjinzaxx

That’s not a flaw. It’s a sequence where they go back into the store to get snacks more palatable to a child’s taste buds. The beer tasted like goat sweat. Sheesh.

Welcome to the the Third Millennium. We’re deadly serious about nitpicking.
