‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ CCXP Footage Reveals King Kong’s New Size

The exclusive Godzilla vs. Kong footage that was screened at Brazil’s CCXP revealed that King King has undergone a growth spurt and is now nearly the same size as Godzilla.

In 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, King Kong was described as being an adolescent, with plenty of room to grow between his appearance in the 1970s-set period piece and the present day. And boy, did King Kong grow in time for his second full appearance in the MonsterVerse.

As seen at CCXP this past weekend, King Kong is now about as tall as Godzilla, albeit not as bulky. King Kong is still at something of a disadvantage due to his lack of a real counter to Godzilla’s Atomic Breath, but the size gap being bridged now gives him a fighting chance in the title bout.

The Godzilla vs. Kong footage that was shown at CCXP features both King Kong and Godzilla standing atop what appears to be an aircraft carrier that can somehow sustain the weight of the two Titans, against the backdrop of the setting sun. While the King of the Monsters stands his ground, roaring with his back against the water, King Kong moves to punch his scalier counterpart in the face.

As it stands, it seems as though King Kong won’t be on the bad end of a one-sided fight with the King of the Monsters. It remains to be seen which other Titans will appear in the monster mash, but one thing that’s clear is that size absolutely matters this time around.

Here is the synopsis for Godzilla vs Kong:
