#1 – The Dark Knight Is Coming
The final scene of the Gotham finale will forever be one of the most iconic moments of the whole show as Bruce decides to [proto] suit up and stop a mugger from putting a family through the same pain that the Wayne family was put through. Even though I know they won’t call him that, a part of me really just wants to nickname Bruce “Bat-Boy” as he gets closer to that destiny.
Verdict: Despite some quick resolutions to some of the bigger arcs of the season, the two-hour finale of Gotham Season 3 was an excellent conclusion to what has been the show’s best season. We had the epic debut of what seems to be a great version of Ra’s Al Ghul who I can’t wait to see more of next season. Bruce taking that bigger step towards becoming Batman was just breathtaking which will be exciting to see in the new season. The twist behind Butch was something I didn’t see coming, but I’m sure we will be getting more answers soon enough. Selina and Tabitha connecting was something I would have wanted to see more of in the finale, but I understand why it wasn’t possible. Barbara’s potential transformation into Harley Quinn is something I hope gets answered sooner rather than later.
Overall, a remarkable finale for an incredible third season and while Season 4 is months away, I can’t wait to find out what is in store for us when the show comes back this fall.
Gotham will return for its fourth season sometime in the fall at its new time slot on Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX.
