Season 4 of Gotham will see several characters making the next logical step in their evolution into the characters that we know and love from the pages of DC Comics, and it looks like Bruce Wayne is not the only one that will be suiting up this season.
Before this season, Charlie Tahan had only appeared as Jonathan Crane in two Season 1 episodes of the FOX series, but this season, he’s back, and on this week’s episode, entitled “Fear the Reaper,” Crane will finally be suiting up as The Scarecrow. We saw him briefly at the end of the Season 4 premiere, but now FOX has released a bunch of new images, including a full look at Scarecrow himself.
The full image, seen above, features the character wearing his traditional burlap sack mask and ragged robes. The second image, below, shows the somewhat obscured villain wielding his signature weapon, a scythe. His ensemble also features tubes that run around the back that go to his toxin tank and gas mask.
You can check out all of the released images from this week’s episode in the gallery below.
Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as Detective Jim Gordon, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth, Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/The Riddler, Carmen Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Maggie Geha as Ivy Pepper, Benedict Samuel as Jervis Tetch/The Mad Hatter and Michael Chiklis as Captain Nathaniel Barnes. Here is the official synopsis for Season 4:
Gotham’s origin story continues to unfold, and as the show enters its fourth season, the stakes will be higher than ever! With the Court of Owls decimated, the aftermath of the Tetch virus crippling the city, and every (surviving) villain in Gotham’s underworld jockeying for power, Jim Gordon and the GCPD will have their hands full. And that’s just the beginning! What threat does Ra’s al Ghul pose, and will Penguin regain his title as the King of Gotham? What new villains are in store for season four, and what does Bruce Wayne’s season finale reveal mean for Gotham City — and his ultimate destiny?
Gotham Season 4 airs Thursday nights at 8/7c on FOX.
