‘Gotham’ Ratings Down; ‘Supergirl’ Falls To Second Lowest Numbers

Supergirl Gotham
Last night’s episode of Supergirl featured the return of Livewire while the winter finale of Gotham featured Jerome’s sinister plan to kidnap and execute Bruce Wayne. Unfortunately for both shows, it appears audiences were not that interested in either story as TVLine is reporting that ratings were down for both superhero dramas.

TVLine reports that Supergirl earned a total of 2.33 million viewers with a 0.7 demo rating. These numbers are the second lowest for the CW series on both counts.

Over at Fox, Gotham‘s winter finale also saw a decline in viewership with 3.5 million viewers and a demo rating of 1.1.

Gotham will now go on hiatus until April.

Supergirl continues next week with the episode titled “The Martian Chronicles”.

“The Martian Chronicles” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

WHITE MARTIANS ATTACK THE DEO — Armek (guest star Terrell Tilford), a White Martian, descends on National City intent on taking M’gann (guest star Sharon Leal) back to Mars to face her punishment as a traitor. Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) determine the best way to keep M’gann safe is to bring her to the DEO. However, when it is revealed that Armek shape-shifted into M’gann and is now loose in the building, the team realize he could be disguised as any one of them.

David McWhirter directed the episode written by Gabriel Llanas & Anna Musky-Goldwyn (#211). Original airdate 2/6/2017.”

Supergirl airs on Monday at 8:00 PM ET on The CW. Be sure to check back with Heroic Hollywood after each episode for weekly reviews!

Unfortunate as those were some of the better episodes of both those shows. Gotham is a series I don’t particularly love but the teaser for that finale made me curious and I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed that episode.
